Hi BOL, Thanks for your last e.mail. Sounds like a ticket for the grandstands and another for the paddock. I've been to Brands Hatch in the 80's, varios times then, used to take my kids alot. I could always get into the pits and meet the drivers and mechanics, get food and drink it was so much more friendly then. The only snobbish team was Mclaren, I even had one of the mechanics say to me that the drivers were too above themselves, one was John Watson and the other I think Prost. I've also been to Jerez and of course Barcelona. I remember seeing the epic battle between Mansell and Senna and that fantastic overtaking move by Mansel at the end of the pit straight. Valencia was not a good experience. The spectators viewing was damm awful and once in your stand you could not get out to walk anywhere. I hope it is improved for 2009 or I won't go for sure. Then we have our local track a Valencia ( Cheste ). It is a great track because you can see 99% or the track from almost anywhere. I quite often go ( I get invited ). A friend of mine here in Javea and who my son works for, his son races in WTCC. Have a look at Sergio Hernandez. He's raced carts, F3, World Series, GP2 and now WTCC. He has got a manufacturers drive for 2009 (but I cannot say where yet!!) I am sure it will soon be anounced. He's a good driver but it takes lots of money to move in the right circles!! Anyway as you can guess it helps me get watch racing. I cannot confirm 100% that I will get to Portimao but I am pretty confident I will get there. I know flight times/prices etc, just need to find a cheapy hotel not too far from the circuit, that I'm looking for now. Anyway we'll keep in touch and I'll let you know soon what my plans will be. Look forward to meeting up with you. Tony

Hi BOL, thanks for your message. I would like to get to the testing in Portimao. Its a long way and probably for me the best is to fly to Sevilla, get a hire car and drive the last 250 km. We don't get many daily flights from Valencia or Alicante to there and the cost is alot more. However I still need to arrange the time off, should'nt be a problem. At the moment the circuit do not have ticket prices or what is on offer. Maybe the paddock won't be available but will have to wait and see. Did you get in the paddock on your last trip there ? I'll keep in touch with you and look forward to perhaps meeting up with you if we are both at the circuit. I'll keep in touch. Tony

Hiya WOMBOL, Trust you've been having a good Xmas. Me I'm still trying to shake of the bloody flu I brought back from the UK. I'm told copius amounts of good red wine or a good brandy will help !! Always nice to chat with you. Tony
